Digital X-Ray

Digital x-rays include periapical x-rays (individiual pictures of specific teeth) and panoramic x-rays (diagnostic full mouth image). Dr. Sorboro uses individual periapial x-rays when he is diagnosing a problem with an individual tooth, such as in a crown lengthening procedures. Panoramic x-rays are utilized in determining whether a patient is a candidate for dental implants. Panoramic x-rays show the entire mouth and especially the bone level which is of the utmost importance when considering implant placement.

Digital x-rays are quickly becoming the standard in dental imaging.

Digital x-rays allow the doctor to get a much better view of your teeth and potential dental conditions. The digital imaging software allows the doctor to see a number of different views of the tooth to gain a better understanding of the proper course of management. Digital x-rays provide a great benefit to the patient. Not only are they an excellent diagnostic tool, but they decrease radiation to the patient by over 80%.
